Ant Communication is a sketch that appears in "Michael Ellis," the forty-first episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

The documentary on ant communication continues, with an explanation of the anatomy of the ant, including the exoskeleton which protects the ant from other creatures, but not the dissector's scalpel. An animated hand chops off bits of the ant and plucks out its legs. Chris Quinn (Eric Idle) remarks to his pet ant Marcus that he didn't know ants have six legs, but the TV says "I assure you they do, Mr Ellis." Quinn notices Marcus only has four legs and a false feeler. He smashes the TV onto a pile of used TVs and tells his mother (Terry Jones) he's taking the ant back. She tells him his polar bear's escaped into Mrs McWong's garden and throws him a wad of money to buy another TV. Quinn cycles off, passing delivery men delivering even more TVs.
