Arthur Nudge or Arthur Name is a reoccurring character who first appears in the Nudge Nudge sketch in How to Recognise Different Types of Trees From Quite a Long Way Away, the third episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. He is portrayed by Eric Idle.

In How to Recognise Different Types of Trees From Quite a Long Way Away, he sits down in a bar and asks the man next to him what it's like to sleep with a woman, but trying not to say it outright. He later returns in The Ant, An Introduction where he interrupts a couple's evening together when he brings his friends for a chaotic party.
He also appears in The Ant, an Introduction, where he goes to a couple's house uninvited and calls himself "Arthur Name" instead of Arthur Nudge.
In How Not to Be Seen, he appears as Archbishop Nudge, who works for Crackpot Religions Ltd. After being asked about peace, he sketchily says "I like a piece".
He also appears in And Now For Something Completely Different, and in live shows like, Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl and Monty Python Live (Mostly).
