Complaints is a sketch that appears in "Déjà Vu," the sixteenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

Dr Cream (Terry Jones) complains about how TV shows portray psychiatrists and how they make diagnoses without obtaining full medical history. The psychiatrist character then continues his dialogue, making his complaint redundant.

A man (John Cleese) complains about people who make rash complaints without making sure the complaints are justified. Dr Cream angrily asks if he is referring to him. The man then complains about the BALPA spokesman (Eric Idle) wearing the British Psychiatric Association Dinner Dance Club cuff links. Dr Cream comments he noticed that too. The BALPA spokesman tells the audience they are not the cuff links, but the British Sugar Corporation Gilbert and Sullivan Society cuff links. The spokesman then complains about shows having too may complaints in them. A presenter (Michael Palin) complains about people who hold things up by complaining about people complaining. A 16-ton weight falls on him.

The psychiatrist milkman (Idle) asks a nurse dressed as a milkmaid (Carol Cleveland) to take Mrs Pim (Graham Chapman) from the previous sketch to Dr Cream. She leads her his office but Dr Cream is busy with Audrey, a cow. She leads her across a bank where Mrs Wills is serving drinks, past the The Bishop (Palin) rehearsing his lines, the secretary working, a hare which explodes, past Mrs Wills and the Bishop again, to which Mrs Pim looks back in confusion.
