Current Affairs is a sketch that appears in "Live from the Grill-O-Mat," the eighteenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

The Linkman (John Cleese) sitting in a Grill-O-Mat restaurant and introduces the next item.

Mr Praline (Cleese) presents his new chat show and his flatmate Brooky (Eric Idle) and tells the audience they will discuss current affairs issues. As Brooky starts to talk about three nuns in a nudist colony, Praline cuts him off and talks about population increase. Suddenly, the manager (Terry Jones) comes and tells Praline the show's too long this week, and that this scene has been cut, however, he offers them a part later in the show if they can find a piano stool.

Praline hears something and tells Brooky they "might still get in this show as a link" and puts his ear to the floor where he can hear the Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things members being flushed through a pipe.
