The Mayor signs Mr Praline's request
A commentator (John Cleese) describes the actions of the Lord Mayor of Derby who is nine foot tall. He enters the post office, accompanied by aldermen, and signs the "fishy exemption" for Mr Eric Praline. Praline, astounded, takes the exemption and shakes his hand, constantly looking at the camera in confusion. The Mayor and the aldermen eat their oranges and leave for the second half.
At a school playing field, the Derby Council run on to play a game of rugby against the All Blacks. The Lady Mayoress scores, resulting in 11–3 to the Derby Council. A linkman (Michael Palin) interviews Cliff (Graham Chapman) who describes the All Blacks' performance against other teams. The linkman recaps the semi-final between the Bournemouth Gynaecologists and the Watford Long John Silver Impersonators.
