Gorilla Librarian is a sketch that appears in "Untitled," the tenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Synopsis[]
A chairman (Graham Chapman) holds a picture of Caesar (Chapman), trying to hide it from a woman and a vicar (Terry Jones). He throws it away and the vicar asks what it was as a gorilla, Mr Phipps (Eric Idle), is called in for an interview for a librarian position. They question his experience and the fact that he is a gorilla, as well as his ideas on censorship. The chairman then expresses his love of hiring wild animals as librarians. Phipps admits he is not actually a gorilla, having been told that it would be easier to get a job dressed as one. Mr Pattinson, a dog, enters and is told to sit.
