International Communist Party of China is a sketch that appears in "How Not to Be Seen," the twenty-fourth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. It also appears in And Now for Something Completely Different.
Synopsis[]
An animation by Terry Gilliam
The sketch flow seamlessly from the previous one. Ms. Johnson (Carol Cleveland) returns to her typing in her office, when it is suddenly overrun by thousands of miniature yellow Chinese soldiers led by an animated Mao Tse Tung.
A narrator (Terry Gilliam doing an English accent) explains that Ms. Johnson has fallen victim to the dreaded "International Chinese Communist Conspiracy". She is then seen drowning in a sea of yellow soldiers as the voiceover explains that the conspiracy has destroyed her just as they do anytime free countries waver in defending their democracy. As chairman Mao floats over the sea of yellow men, he is suddenly blown away by a cannon shot, as a sailing ship flying the stars and stripes sails into shot to the tune of Stars and Stripes Forever.
The camera then cuts to an animated Uncle Sam (Gilliam) doing a sales pitch for "American Defense". He uses the cut-out of Conrad Poohs' teeth to demonstrate the Domino Theory, and explains that American Defense stops the decay caused by international communism before it starts, and that's why nine out of ten small countries choose it.
