Mrs. Sybil Agro (Eric Idle) writes to the Mirror View, wishing "to be paid five guineas for saying something stupid about a television show."
Captain R.H. Pretty (John Cleese) writes to David Jacobs, questioning the price of a television licence. He also asks Jacobs to support Rhodesia, cut motor taxes, and save the argylls.
The Cincinnati Mining Co. (Graham Chapman) writes to "old Codgers," informing them of a drill that has been used to find nickel deposits off western Scotland. The letter's response is "Good for you, Ma'am!"
President of the United States of America, R.M. Nixon (Michael Palin) writes to old Codgers to inform them that he is the President of the United States of America. The response comments on this being a job and a half.
A 3,000-year-old person (Terry Jones) writes, requesting to a see a scene of two people in bed, which the old Codgers take to be a link to the next sketch.
