Synopsis[]

Flying Circus[]

CarolCleveland

Carol Cleveland as the stereotypical "blonde bombshell" in the Marriage Guidance Counsellor sketch.

Married couple Arthur (Michael Palin) and Deirdre Pewtey (Carol Cleveland) visit a marriage counsellor. As Mr Pewtey tries to state the problems in their marriage, the marriage guidance counsellor flirts with a receptive Mrs Pewtey rather than give the couple advice. Mr Pewtey fails miserably to react to this behaviour and stand up for himself. He leaves the office and a Southerner (John Cleese) convinces him he must "be a man." An ambitious Pewtey goes back into the office and is immediately kicked back out. A man in a suit of armour (Terry Gilliam) then hits him in the head with a chicken.
