Psychiatrist Milkman is a sketch that appears in "Déjà Vu," the sixteenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

Mrs Pim (Graham Chapman) sits in the living room knitting, before the doorbell rings and she goes to answer it. A man in a milkman's uniform (Eric Idle) introduces himself as a psychiatrist, and the lady points this out, to which the psychiatrist ticks off on his notebook. The lady tells him to go away but the milkman proceeds. He continues to test her and concludes she suffers from repressive libido complex with multiple reasons, such as an unhappy childhood. The psychiatrist tells her to come down to the dairy as it won't cure her but will give hundreds of workers a good laugh, and she agrees.

The psychiatrist leads her out of her home, past a cat which explodes, into his milk van filled with folders of case histories, and drives off. The doctor (Michael Palin) flags down the milk van and tells him their psychiatrist from Jersey Cream Psychiatrists hasn't arrived yet. The psychiatrist begins to treat him and recognises him from the last sketch. He tells the doctor he suffers from severe personality disorder.
