Race Against the Credits is a sketch that appears in "The Spanish Inquisition," the fifteenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Synopsis[]
After failing to turn up to the courtroom in the previous sketch in time, the Cardinals rush out of a suburban house and onto a red bus, climbing to the top deck. Biggles (Terry Jones) notices the credits have started to roll and Ximinez (Michael Palin) tells the ticket man to hurry. Ximinez notices the lighting credits and then the producer credits have appeared and they must hurry. The Cardinals race into the building, jump into the courtroom and Ximinez announces "Nobody expects the Span-" before being cut off by 'THE END'.
Trivia[]
- Ximinez's "Oh bugger!" was a point of contention for the BBC but they soon decided to let it pass uncut. It was censored for viewers in Scotland though.
