The Roman Empire is an empire of soldiers and governors who were in control of Judea and Rome for 1000 years, and also punished criminals by crucifying them, such as Jesus. They appear in Monty Python's Life of Brian as the main villains. In the film they control the citizens, which makes every Jew hate them, especially Brian. The main leader was Julius Caesar, the fifth governor, Pontius Pilate and the unnamed leader of the soldiers. During the movie they are also shown as the comic relief with Pontius's friend Biggus Dickus, and his wife Incontinentia Buttocks.
