Following the laughter deaths of Ernest Scribbler and his mother, Scotland Yard's crack inspector is sent into the Scribbler home to remove the deadly joke whilst somber music plays on gramophone records, aided by the men of Q division. However, these precautions do not save the inspector from fatality by sudden, violent comedy. He is portrayed by Graham Chapman.
