The Semaphore Version of Wuthering Heights is a sketch that appears in "The Spanish Inquisition," the fifteenth episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

Twentieth-Century Vole presents 'The Semaphore Version of Wuthering Heights'.

Two actors (Terry Jones and Carol Cleveland) act out a scene with Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, waving semaphore flags to converse. Catherine's husband (Eric Idle) is shown outside a house waving flags too, calling for her. He then uses larger flags to call louder. Catherine meets her husband at the house and she angrily expresses her love for Heathcliff, pacing about waving semaphore flags.
